Using the Actions Menu
The Actions Menu in the Queued tab helps you efficiently manage your jobs. You can do the following:
- Set Priority: Assign a custom priority number to each job.
- Reorder Jobs: Move a job to the top or bottom of the queue with a single click.
- Delete Jobs: Remove a job from the queue.
Understanding the Default Priority System
The platform automatically assigns a priority number to each ingestion job in the queue. This numbering system follows the following rules:
-
Priority numbers start at 1
-
Each subsequent job receives the next incremental number (1, 2, 3...)
-
Priority 1 represents the highest priority
-
The highest number represents the lowest priority
-
The number of jobs in the queue determines the range of priority numbers
How are the job processed?
Jobs are processed based on their priority numbers:
-
The platform first processes the job with priority 1
-
The platform continues processing in numerical order (1→2→3...)
-
Each job must complete processing before the next priority begins
Setting Custom Priority Numbers
Assign a specific priority to an ingestion job.
To assign priority, do the following:
- Click the Data module, and then click the Ingestion Jobs sub-module.
The Ingestion Jobs page is displayed.
-
In the Ingestion Jobs page, under the Queued tab, locate the job you want to prioritize.
-
Click the three vertical dots next to the job, and then select the Set Priority option from the menu.
The Enter Priority dialog box is displayed.
-
In Enter Priority dialog box, type the new priority. Ensure the following:
-
The number must be within the range of current queue size.
-
Example: If there are 100 jobs in queue, you can set any number from 1 to 100.
-
Click Save to apply the new priority to the job.
When setting a new priority number to a job:
- Lower the number = higher the priority
- The platform intelligently reorders other jobs to maintain the sequence
- Each job in the queue must have a unique priority number
Moving Jobs to Top Priority
In a single click move a low priority to the top of the queued list.
To move jobs to the top priority, do the following:
- Click the Data module, and then click the Ingestion Jobs sub-module.
The Ingestion Jobs page is displayed.
-
In the Ingestion Jobs page, under the Queued tab, locate the job whose priority you want to change.
-
Click the three vertical dots next to the job, and then select the Move to Top option to move the job to the top of the list.
The platform assigns priority 1 to the selected job and automatically adjusts other job priorities.
For example: In a 10-job queue, if you are moving priority 9 to top then:
-
Job 9 becomes priority 1
-
Original jobs 1-8 move one number down
Moving Jobs to Bottom Priority
In a single click move a high priority to the bottom of the queued list.
To move jobs to the bottom priority, do the following:
- Click the Data module, and then click the Ingestion Jobs sub-module.
The Ingestion Jobs page is displayed.
-
In the Ingestion Jobs page, under the Queued tab, locate the job whose priority you want to change.
-
Click the three vertical dots next to the job, and then select the Move to Bottom option to move the job to the bottom of the list.
The platform assigns the last priority number to the selected job and automatically adjusts other job priorities. For example, in a 10-job queue, if you are moving priority 2 to bottom, then:
-
Job 2 becomes priority 10
-
Original jobs 3-10 move one number up
Deleting Jobs from Queue
Remove a job permanently from the ingestion queue.
You can delete a job only while it is available in the Queued tab. Once ingestion begins and the job moves to In-Progress or Completed status, you are not permitted to delete a job.
To delete a job from the ingestion queue, do the following:
- Click the Data module, and then click the Ingestion Jobs sub-module.
The Ingestion Jobs page is displayed.
-
In the Ingestion Jobs page, under the Queued tab, locate the job that you want to delete.
-
Click the three vertical dots next to the job, and then select the Delete option to move the job to the bottom of the list.
What happens after you delete a job in the queue?
Deleting a job from the queue only removes the job from the ingestion process.
If a job is successfully ingested, it is available in the following:
-
The Explore module
-
The File Manager
